TIPS TO START OFF YOUR 2019

1. BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
In theory this is easy but how do I put this into action? I always start my day off with Prayer / yoga or meditation followed by a mirror pep talk while I apply my makeup or while I get dressed, I tell myself that I am capable, that I am smart, that I am worthy and that I can conquer anything I set my mind to. Starting off the day with self-belief and assurance is something which has changed my life.

2. SET GOALS AND WRITE THEM DOWN
They say you are 80% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. Make sure they are SMART goals- Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-oriented and Time-limited. I usually write down BIG goals for the year and have them somewhere in view as a reminder to myself every day and I also set day-to-day goals / to-do lists to ensure productivity.

3. LOOK AFTER YOUR BODY
It really isn’t a myth when people say, ‘you are what you eat’. If you’re constantly consuming things which don’t make you feel great, then spend a little time reducing your intake of them. Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet and drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Adding some exercise into your routine works magic for your mind, body and soul. Even if I can’t bring myself to go for a full-on sprint, I will still attempt to go for a brisk walk in the evenings.

4. DO YOUR BEST REGARDLESS OF THE OUTCOME
There is a quote which I love and live by and it goes something like this : A Bedouin once said that he was placing his trust in Allah and had no need to tie the camel. The prophet Mohammed then replied, “Tie your camel and place your trust in Allah.” Which in essence means take precautions, fulfil your responsibilities and then put your faith in God to do the rest. Accepting that everything that happens (good or bad) is only a small part of the bigger picture will help you live a more stress-free life. Go with the flow.

5. ALWAYS BE THANKFUL FOR SOMETHING
Spend a minute before bed just reflecting on the positives of the day and being thankful for the little things.
